Code of Ethics

Ā Rick Kienlien, the director of Instruction for SD73 came to class to discuss the code of ethics for teachers. It was very informative to hear the ā€œdos and don’tsā€ of being a teacher. It was neat to be getting this chat from a possible future employer who just seemed like a regular guy. It put me at ease getting this information early on in the program.Ā

After class, I went through my social media and sorted through pictures that may be portrayed incorrectly. Not that I had sensitive content, but I needed to clean up some pictures. Rick explained the importance of your professional image as a teacher. You aren’t only a teacher while in the classroom, you are also a teacher outside the classroom. Looking forward to my career, I can see myself working in a small community of some kind. Within a small community, I would more than likely be in the public eye a lot and would often come in contact with my students outside of my classroom. With that in mind, it is important to start creating a professional appearance in all aspects of my life.
