British Columbia’s new curriculum provides a guideline to teachers and other educators of what the students are needing to learn. It gives a snapshot of what the students need to learn by the end of the year, but how it is delivered is up to the teacher. As a future teacher, I use the BC curriculum to plan and support lesson and unit plans. Across the grades and subjects, the topics build off each other, showing the continuum of the learning process. Within the curriculum, there are explanations of assessment and examples of lessons. The curriculum website has become my most visited website and will continue to be my life line as a teacher in the future.
